Let’s be honest. It’s not the most practical thing to throw all the information about the island at you in a single blog or article and then just leave you to it. That’s why we’re back with Part 2 of the must-see places in Menorca—so you can keep ticking them off your to-do list.

Lighthouses with endless views

The lighthouses of Menorca are true guardians of the horizon and offer some of the best sunsets in the Mediterranean.

  • Favàritx Lighthouse, with its lunar landscape of black rocks, looks like something from another planet. Fun fact: it’s the easternmost lighthouse in all of Spain.

  • Cavalleria Lighthouse, at the northernmost tip of the island, is perfect for watching the sun sink into the sea.
  • And Punta Nati Lighthouse, near Ciutadella, offers breathtaking panoramas.

Villages with soul

Beyond Mahón and Ciutadella, Menorca is full of villages worth visiting. For example:

  • Fornells is famous for its lobster stew (caldereta de langosta) and the calm beauty of its bay.
  • Es Mercadal, right in the center of the island, is the perfect place to taste local gastronomy and climb Mount Toro, the highest point in Menorca, with its 360-degree views.
  • Alaior, with its medieval charm, and Sant Lluís, with its French heritage, complete the list of delightful towns.

Talayotic sites: a journey through time

Menorca is full of prehistoric monuments that are unique in the world, such as navetas, taulas, and talayots.

  • The Naveta des Tudons is perhaps the most famous, a funerary monument that has survived for thousands of years.
  • Other sites, such as Torre d’en Galmés or Torralba d’en Salort, offer a fascinating glimpse into the lives of the island’s first inhabitants.

Magical caves and unique nightlife

The Cova d’en Xoroi is probably the most iconic leisure spot in Menorca: a bar and nightclub carved into a cliff, with terraces hanging over the sea. By day it’s the perfect place to enjoy a drink while gazing at the endless blue, and by night it transforms into a vibrant venue with music and an atmosphere like no other.

Markets and local products

Exploring Menorca’s markets is another way to discover its soul. Mahón-Menorca cheese, cured meats, honey, local wines, and traditional sweets are treasures that let you take a little piece of the island home. The summer markets, filled with crafts and a bohemian atmosphere, are also an essential part of the Menorcan experience.
