Reduced working hours for the senior flat team: a commitment to wellbeing

At MarSenses Hotels & Homes we believe that taking care of our team is as important as taking care of our guests. That is why, from 2025 onwards, the senior housekeeping staff will enjoy a 32-hour working week, maintaining the same benefits and conditions as the 40-hour working week. This measure reinforces our commitment to the well-being and work-life balance of our colleagues.

Reducing the weekly workload not only improves the quality of life of our professionals, but also contributes to a more motivated and healthy working environment. We know that the tasks of the housekeepingteam are essential and require great physical effort and dedication. This new day will allow for better energy and time management, ensuring that each member of the team arrives at work with more vitality and less wear and tear.

This measure is in addition to others previously implemented in the department’s operations:

  • increase of the staff ratio in the flats department.
  • reduction of the working hours to 38.5 hours per week for the entire MarSenses Hotels & Homes team.
  • bonus of 100€ per month
  • +3% basic salary increase in addition to the +3.3% increase in the collective agreement.
  • intensive cleaning operation every two days
  • maximum cleaning of 8 rooms per person/day (with a maximum of 2 departures)
  • dry cleaning, reducing the weight load from water buckets.

At MarSenses Hotels & Homes we firmly believe that investing in the wellbeing of our team is investing in the quality of our services. Therefore, this measure is just one of the steps we are taking towards a more humane and sustainable working model. We want each person who forms part of our family to feel that their health and happiness are priorities for us.

We continue to be committed to a working environment where all our employees feel that their health and happiness are priorities for us.
