When we talk about sustainability, the first thing that usually comes to mind is environmental issues. And that’s great, but it goes much further than that.

The Royal Spanish Academy defines sustainability as “the quality of being sustainable,” meaning something “that can be maintained over a long period without depleting resources or causing serious environmental damage.” While this definition is valid, it falls short: sustainability encompasses many more dimensions.

The United Nations (UN), for example, has established 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) aimed at transforming the world. These goals are interconnected and address challenges such as poverty, inequality, climate change, justice, and peace. To leave no one behind, we must work to achieve them by 2030.

One of the key pillars is building a fair and equal society for all. That’s the foundation: a real commitment to equity, beyond ideologies or personal interests. This isn’t about social, religious, or economic labels. It’s about awareness, about humanity.

At MarSenses Hotels & Homes, we are committed to real sustainable development, grounded in its three pillars: environmental, social, and economic.

On the social axis—the heart of our actions—we work to include vulnerable groups, reduce working hours without affecting employment, and create safe workspaces free of discrimination and prejudice. Because for us, people are what matter most.

We can all do something to improve the well-being of those around us. The key question is:

Do you truly want to take the first step?
